Many things may and have been said about Donald Trump, but one thing is certain: he is a HUSTLER! That’s a very good one.
Who is Donald Trump?
Donald J. Trump epitomizes the American success narrative, always pushing the bar for excellence while growing his real estate, sports, and entertainment holdings. He is a Wharton School of Finance graduate. Mr Trump is a prolific author who has written over fifteen best-selling books, including The Art of the Deal, which is regarded as a business classic and one of the most successful business books of all time. He is also the 45th President of the United States of America. ( image courtesy of donaldjtrump.com )
1. Know Why You Do, What You Do.
“I don’t do it for the money,” Donald Trump is quoted as saying. I have much, far more than I’ll ever require. I do it for the sake of doing it.“ I’m sure the majority of people will think to themselves, “Hey!” It’s easy for you to say that since you already have the money, but I believe I get what he’s saying when he says, “Deals are my art form.” Others create lovely paintings on canvas or write exquisite words. I enjoy making deals, especially huge ones. That’s how I get my thrills. That’s some serious sh*t. (Please accept my apologies for my poor French) The ability to understand why you do what you do and the feelings you get from it will always distinguish successful people from those who are stumbling through life.
What I took away from it is that you should do it based on how it makes you feel (preferably a good feeling). For example, back when music was still an honest “trade” in the early 1980s and 1990s, most artists did it for the love of music, because the feeling they get when they sing, according to some, takes them away from their current problems and transports them to a higher place; becoming a super-rich celebrity wasn’t the initial motivation, but it came with the package, so doing it for the feeling you get is key.
But, then, why do individuals go to jobs they despise and spend 9 to 5 sitting at a desk or standing doing something they despise? It’s because, in my opinion, they’ve been able to brainwash themselves (a harsh phrase, but it came to mind) into ignoring the negative energy and feelings that doing the work they do provides them. Everyone, in my opinion, does something that makes them feel good about themselves and makes them feel like the greatest version of themselves.
It is, in my opinion, an innovative design. I enjoy taking things apart and putting my own spin on them to make something new. When it comes to design, I don’t like starting from scratch; I prefer to build on existing concepts and push them to their limits.
Another thing I enjoy doing is reading or absorbing information with the goal of not only benefiting myself but also sharing it with others via speech, video, or writing! I enjoy sharing knowledge. When I’m able to develop new content that will benefit others, I feel a rush. As a result, it’s critical to understand how you feel when you’re doing anything. If there’s something you can do to make yourself feel like the most powerful version of yourself, do it!
2.Think big, Big, BIG!
Donald Trump worked for his father virtually his whole life until he graduated from college in 1968 at the age of 22. After a few years of working with his father, he took over his father’s business, which was then known as “Elizabeth Trump and Son,” and was focused on building and renting mid-market apartments in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, New York; however, when Donald took over, he renamed the company “The Trump Organization,” and he had his sights set on the big pie – Manhattan. He did exactly what we expected.
Trump soon began looking for larger and more high-profile real estate ventures than his father’s outer-borough apartment towers. With the talents, he developed while working for his father, one of which was the ability to spot “distressed real-estate gems” that he would buy, restore, and sell, and in the 1970s, New York City was on the verge of bankruptcy (Investopedia), so there were plenty of gems to be found.
Trump was able to leave his mark – his name – on the city by turning it into his playground. Despite his reputation as a real estate mogul, Trump has ventured into hotels, golf courses, casinos, model management, and a perfume line, with notable success.
For me, the takeaway is to Think Big. If you’re not content with your existing achievements, there’s always room to accomplish better than whoever got you into the game in the first place ( in his case, his father Fred did ). Consider the possibilities!

3. Have Fun.
Yes, you read that correctly. Have a good time. These days, hustlers and entrepreneurs are so focused on the end result (which isn’t always a bad thing), that they forget to have fun, relax, and most importantly, enjoy the process. “If it can’t be entertaining, what’s the point?” Trump is reported as saying. Success does not change the fact that life is fragile. Success, if anything, makes it more brittle.
Anything can happen at any time, without warning, which is why I try not to take anything too seriously. ” What’s the point of “doing what you want” and hustling if you’re not having fun? Entrepreneurship should be a pleasurable experience. Even if entrepreneurs and hustlers, in my opinion, are the hardest workers, we should also be the most fun because not everyone has the opportunity to do what they love and make money from it; hustlers are the exception. “ I don’t waste a lot of time thinking about what I should have done better or what will happen next.
What are the totals of my transactions? I’m not sure, except that I had a lot of fun making them.” So, even though you’re hustling and bustling and going for that end goal, the key or the punchline here is to enjoy the process, with no regrets and no over-pondering!
